The long lifespan of the silk plaster largely stems from its ability to be locally repaired: after local scratches, stains, or damages, simply spray water to moisten and reapply the same batch of material. The repaired area can blend seamlessly with the original finish, leaving almost no trace, eliminating the need for a complete replacement. This effectively extends the overall finish’s service life indefinitely.
Product Quality (Determining Factor)
Our quality is achieved through the use of native cellulose fibers, mineral pigments, Japanese imported plant gum powder. The color fastness reaches above the national standard level 4, with stable adhesion. Under normal home conditions, it will not show significant fading, powdering, or detachment for 10 to 15 years.
Usage Scenarios and Environments
Optimal environment (living rooms, bedrooms, study rooms, etc., dry and ventilated areas): no strong direct sunlight, stable humidity, with a lifespan of up to 12 to 15 years, or even longer.
Suboptimal environment (entrances, corridors, sun-exposed walls): frequent friction or long-term direct sunlight will accelerate slight fading, with a lifespan of approximately 8 to 12 years.
High-humidity areas (next to kitchens, dry areas of bathrooms, basements): waterproof wall coatings must be selected. Under normal maintenance, the normal lifespan is approximately 7 to 10 years; ordinary wall coatings are prone to mold growth in high-humidity environments, and their lifespan may be shortened to within 5 years.
Construction Quality
Standard construction (flat base, applying the dedicated primer, uniform thickness of 1.5 to 2mm, natural drying): can fully utilize the product’s performance, achieving the stated lifespan.
Non-standard construction (unsealed base, uneven thickness, forced drying): is prone to discoloration, cracking, and detachment, with the lifespan potentially shortened by 30% to 50%.
Tips for Extending Lifespan
1 For sun-exposed walls, curtains can be used to reduce long-term direct sunlight exposure, delaying fading;
2 Daily cleaning can be done with a dry brush or vacuum cleaner to avoid frequent wet wiping;
3 For local stains, gently wipe with warm water promptly; do not scrape hard;
4 If there is local damage, repair it as soon as possible with the same batch of material to prevent the damage from expanding.
